A recent edition of the Canadian Journal of Volunteer Resource Management featured an article co-authored by Jennifer Rackow, JFFixler Group and Cathy Hall, Canadian Cancer Society - Ontario Division. For more than 70 years, the Canadian Cancer Society and its volunteers have led the fight against cancer. For much of this time, the organization followed the "tried and true" model utilizing formal and traditional approaches to volunteer management. This article features how the Society, working with JFFixler Group, moved from a traditional to an innovative and energized model of volunteer engagement.
Jill Friedman Fixler will once again be presenting at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in June 2012. Check out a segment of Jill's workshop, "High Impact Volunteer Engagement," from last year’s National Conference in June 2011.
CharityChannel Press published another title in its acclaimed "In the Trenches" series with the book You and Your Nonprofit: Practical Advice and Tips from the CharityChannel Professional Community. Among the contributing authors are JFFixler Group's Jill Friedman Fixler and Beth Steinhorn, who authored the chapter on volunteer engagement. Articles cover a wide spectrum relating to nonprofit leadership, management, and fundraising. The book explores planning issues, presents best practices, and addresses many of the day-to-day issues that confront nonprofit leaders and professionals.
